  9. Kudo allows you to quickly browse through your images,
  10. find the one you want, and open the image or place it into
  11. your document -- Quick As A Click!
  12.  
  13. Since this is a read only version of Kudor Image Browser
  14. for Windows, you may not create new catalogs, delete from,
  15. nor update an existing catalog.
  16.

  22. ******* General Notes about Kudo Image Browser Features ********
  23.  
  24. A very exciting feature of Kudor Image Browser for Windows is
  25. the ability to open an image from your Kudo catalog with another
  26. application (Ex. Photoshop) just by clicking and holding on the
  27. thumbnail you want to open, and dragging it into your application.
  28. This eliminates the chore of importing images by clumsy file
  29. dialog boxes.
  30.  
  31. This will work for many applications, but not all, so you should
  32. just try it and see what programs you have that will accept our
  33. Drag & Drop.
  34.  
  35. Another fantastic feature is the ability to "Drag & Place" an
  36. Image into Pagemaker v4.2 and Later and Word for Windows 2.0, just
  37. by clicking and holding on a thumbnail and dragging it onto your
  38. open document.
  39.  
  40. For Microsoft Word users, Word will indicate that you can drop the
  41. image only when the cursor is over the Word application tool bar
  42. or the status bar (along the top and bottom of the window). When
  43. the image is dropped, it will be inserted at the exact location of
  44. the Word "I-beam" (insertion point).
  45.  
  46. You may do the same thing with Quark Xpress v3.11, 3.12 and
  47. v3.2(BETA), but you must first copy the file "M_QUARK.XXT" from
  48. the Kudo directory into your Quark Xpress directory.

  50. While 4MB of memory is sufficient for most operations, it may be
  51. necessary to make more memory available to Kudo. To do this, quit
  52. the other applications that you are running under Windows. Check
  53. for any TSR programs such as scanner or sound card drivers for
  54. example. Keep the number of icons on your desktop to a minimum
  55. especially if you are running a 24 bit color (16 million colors).
  56. Also remember to restart Windows after doing any of these
  57. operations to reset the system memory resources.

  72. Windows ist, können Sie weder einen neuen Katalog erstellen,
  73. noch können Sie bestehende Kataloge löschen oder aufarbeiten.

  80. ******* Allgemeine Hinweise über Kudo Image Browser Funktionen

  83. Eine sehr interessante Funktion des Kudor Image Browsers für Windows
  84. ist die Fähigkeit, eine Grafik von Ihrem Kudo-Katalog mit einer
  85. anderen Applikation zu öffnen (z.B. Photoshop), indem Sie die
  86. Miniaturdarstellung der Grafik anklicken und diese bei
  87. gedrückter Maustaste einfach in Ihre Applikation hineinziehen. Dies
  88. beseitigt die lästige Arbeit des Importierens von Grafiken durch
  89. plumpe Datei-Dialogboxen.

  91. Dies funktioniert bei vielen, aber nicht bei allen Applikationen,
  92. jedoch sollten Sie zunächst testen, welches Ihrer Programme das
  93. Kopieren der Grafiken mit der 'Drag & Drop' Methode akzeptiert.

  95. Eine weitere, fantastische Funktion ist die Möglichkeit, ein Objekt
  96. durch 'Drag & Place' in PageMaker V.4.2 oder höher und Word für
  97. Windows 2.0 einzubinden, indem Sie die Miniaturdarstellung der
  98. Grafik einfach anklicken und diese in Ihr geöffnetes Dokument
  99. hineinziehen.

  101. Für Anwender von Microsoft Word bedeutet dies, daß Sie die Grafik
  102. nur einfügen können, wenn sich der Mauszeiger oberhalb der Werkzeug-
  103. oder Statuszeile der Applikation befindet (am oberen und unteren
  104. Rand des Fensters). Wenn die Grafik übernommen wird, wird diese
  105. exakt am "I-Punkt" (Einfügepunkt) abgelegt.

  107. Sie können dies ebenfalls mit Quark Xpress V.3.11, 3.12 und
  108. V.3.2 (Beta) tun, Sie müssen dazu jedoch zunächst die Datei
  109. "M_QUARK.XXT" von der CD in Ihr Quark Xpress-Verzeichnis
  110. kopieren.

  112. Während 4 MB Speicher für die meisten Operationen ausreicht, kann
  113. es notwendig sein, daß Sie mehr Speicher für Kudo bereitstellen
  114. müssen. Um dies zu tun, verlassen Sie die anderen Applikationen,
  115. die Sie unter Windows laufen haben. Suchen Sie nach TSR (speicher
  116. residenten Programmen), sowie Scanner- und Soundkarten-Treiber.
  117. Halten Sie die Anzahl der Symbole auf Ihrer Oberfläche so klein
  118. wie möglich, besonders wenn Sie mit 24 bit Farbe arbeiten (16
  119. Millionen Farben). Vergessen Sie ebenfalls nicht, Windows nach
  120. Ausführen einer dieser Operationen neu zu starten, um die System
  121. Speicherresourcen wiederherzustellen.
